Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BlueWillow Biologics is developing a therapeutic cancer vaccine utilizing its proprietary NanoVax platform, which features a unique oil-in-water nanoemulsion adjuvant known as NE01. This vaccine is designed for intranasal administration to elicit both mucosal and systemic immune responses, specifically targeting tumor antigens and neoantigens. By inducing a balanced and durable immune response, the vaccine aims to treat existing cancers, particularly mucosal cancers such as those of the mouth, nose, throat, and lung. Preclinical studies conducted at the University of Michigan have demonstrated that this intranasal vaccination approach can reduce the metastasis of colon cancer to the lungs. The technology is currently in the preclinical development stage.
