ThermoProfen

ThermoProfen is an investigational transdermal ketoprofen patch that incorporates ZARS Pharma’s Controlled Heat-Assisted Drug Delivery (CHADD) technology to provide localized delivery of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ketoprofen together with therapeutic heat for musculoskeletal pain relief.[4][7][19] As a topical NSAID system, ThermoProfen is designed to inhibit cyclooxygenase-mediated prostaglandin synthesis at the site of application, thereby reducing inflammation and pain while potentially limiting systemic exposure compared with oral NSAIDs.[19][22] Developed by ZARS Pharma as its lead product candidate, ThermoProfen has undergone late-stage clinical evaluation, including a study in patients with mild to moderate chronic pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee.[4][7][11][16][19]
