Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ThermoVax Bundibugyo Ebola vaccine is an investigational, protein subunit vaccine candidate designed to protect against Bundibugyo virus (BDBV) infection, a species of ebolavirus. Developed by Soligenix in collaboration with the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and Hawaii Biotech, the vaccine utilizes recombinant Bundibugyo virus glycoprotein (GP) antigens formulated with the CoVaccine HT adjuvant. A key feature of this candidate is the integration of Soligenix's proprietary ThermoVax technology, which employs a lyophilization (freeze-drying) process to produce a thermostable formulation. This allows the vaccine to remain stable at temperatures up to 40°C (104°F) for extended periods, eliminating the need for a continuous cold chain and facilitating distribution in virus-endemic regions with limited refrigeration infrastructure.
