Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**TherVacB** is an investigational heterologous prime-boost therapeutic vaccine regimen for **chronic hepatitis B**. It uses protein-based priming with hepatitis B virus surface antigen and mosaic hepatitis B virus core antigen particles, followed by a modified vaccinia Ankara vector boost, MVA-HBVac, encoding hepatitis B virus core, surface, large surface, and polymerase antigens. The regimen is intended to overcome hepatitis B virus-specific immune tolerance by inducing neutralizing antibody responses and broad hepatitis B virus-specific CD4 and CD8 T-cell immunity in people with chronic infection.
