Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Thiazolidinediones-C is a novel synthetic compound belonging to a series of thiazolidine-2,4-diones. It features an amide linkage between a central aryl ring and a hydrophobic tail. Designed and synthesized for anti-diabetic activity, it has demonstrated significant in-vivo pharmacological effects, including blood glucose and triglyceride lowering, comparable to the standard anti-diabetic drug pioglitazone. Computational studies suggest its mechanism involves interaction with peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ).
