Overview
thickened reduced-lactose infant formula + Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 is a specialized nutritional product developed by Nestlé for the dietary management of functional gastrointestinal disorders in infants, such as colic and regurgitation. The formula combines a starch-thickened base (typically using potato or corn starch) to increase the viscosity of the stomach contents and reduce reflux episodes, with a reduced lactose content to alleviate symptoms associated with transient lactase deficiency and gas. It is further enriched with the probiotic strain Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938, which has been clinically shown to reduce crying time in colicky infants by modulating the gut microbiota and improving intestinal motility. The product also contains prebiotic fibers (FOS/GOS) to support a healthy gut environment.
