Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Thiocolchicoside + ketoprofen is a fixed-dose combination of two active pharmaceutical ingredients used primarily for the symptomatic relief of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and spasms. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant that acts on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement. Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes responsible for prostaglandin synthesis—thereby reducing pain and inflammation at sites of injury or damage. This combination provides synergistic analgesic effects with both rapid onset (from thiocolchicoside) and sustained action (from ketoprofen), making it effective in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute low back pain, post-operative pain and other musculoskeletal disorders[1][3][4][5][6].
