Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GCWB208 is an intravenous nutritional therapy (IVNT) injectable formulation of thioctate trometamol (thioctic acid tromethamine), currently under development by GC Green Cross Wellbeing. Thioctate trometamol is a highly water-soluble, buffered salt form of thioctic acid (alpha-lipoic acid), a potent endogenous antioxidant that plays a critical role in mitochondrial energy metabolism. GCWB208 is being developed for the relief of diabetic polyneuropathy, leveraging the antioxidant and neuroprotective properties of thioctic acid to reduce oxidative stress, improve glucose utilization, and alleviate neuropathic symptoms.
