Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ThisCART19A is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy under clinical development for the treatment of various B-cell malignancies. The therapy consists of donor-derived (allogeneic) T cells that are genetically engineered to express a CAR targeting CD19, a cell surface antigen present on B-cell lineage tumor cells. Upon administration, these modified T cells specifically bind to and lyse CD19-expressing tumor cells, making them effective against diseases such as relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), non-Hodgkin's B cell lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, AIDS-associated B-cell lymphoma, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, and primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma. The product is administered intravenously and represents a universal ("off-the-shelf") approach to CAR-T therapy[1][2][3][4].
