Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ThisCART7 is an allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy in development for the treatment of refractory or relapsed T-cell malignancies, including T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (T-NHL), peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL), extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma nasal type, enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma, and anaplastic large cell lymphoma. The therapy consists of donor-derived (allogeneic) T cells that are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor targeting CD7, a transmembrane glycoprotein highly expressed on malignant and normal T cells as well as some NK cells. By targeting CD7, ThisCART7 aims to selectively eliminate malignant CD7-positive lymphocytes. To prevent fratricide—where CAR-T cells attack each other due to shared expression of CD7—strategies such as using naturally occurring CD7-negative donor T cells are employed[1][3][8]. The drug is being developed by Fundamenta Therapeutics and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients with relapsed or refractory CD7-positive T cell malignancies[1][2][3].
