Overview

THN622 is a preclinical bispecific antibody (biologic) being developed by Therini Bio for the treatment of retinal diseases, most notably Diabetic Macular Edema (DME). It is designed to simultaneously block two targets: the fibrin inflammatory epitope and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF). This dual mechanism addresses both VEGF-mediated vascular leakage and fibrin-driven neuroinflammation in retinal diseases characterized by vascular dysfunction. THN622 has been selected as Therini Bio's lead ophthalmology candidate and is positioned as a potential new standard of care for retinal neurodegeneration. As of mid-2026, it remains in the preclinical stage, advancing toward clinical trials.
