THOR-019

THOR-019 is a preclinical-stage bifunctional binder being developed by THOR Therapeutics (also known as THOR Biopharma) for the treatment of cancer cachexia, heart failure, sarcopenia, and as an immuno-oncology (IO) booster. The drug is designed to block the GDF15-GFRAL signaling axis through a dual mechanism of action that involves both GFRAL inhibition and GDF15 neutralization. By targeting both the GFRAL receptor and its ligand GDF15, THOR-019 prevents the formation of the GDF15-GFRAL-RET signaling complex, thereby halting downstream pathogenic signaling that drives muscle wasting, appetite loss, and metabolic dysfunction. THOR-019 is currently in the discovery phase of development.
