Overview

THPP-6 is a small-molecule, selective phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A) inhibitor developed by Merck. It has been investigated in preclinical models for its potential antipsychotic efficacy and its role in regulating energy homeostasis, caloric intake, and body weight. In diet-induced obesity (DIO) mouse models, THPP-6 treatment has been shown to suppress food intake, increase energy expenditure, promote white adipose tissue (WAT) browning (beiging), and improve insulin sensitivity, suggesting potential metabolic benefits over standard atypical antipsychotics.
