Drug intelligence / Profile preview
THV01-1 is a therapeutic HIV vaccine component based on lentiviral vector technology. It contains genes encoding epitopes of the HIV-1 Gag, Pol, and Nef proteins. The vaccine is designed to elicit a broad and long-lasting cellular immune response against HIV-1 epitopes. When administered, the antigen it encodes will be expressed and cleaved into epitopes that will be exposed at the cells' surface, leading to elimination of cells infected by HIV. THV01-1 is administered intramuscularly as part of the THV01 vaccine treatment, which consists of both THV01-1 and THV01-2 vaccines given eight weeks apart.
