Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Thybetaxor (CS060380) is a small molecule thyroid hormone receptor β (THRβ) agonist developed by Cascade Technologies (also known as Cascade Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). As a selective thyromimetic, it is designed to target the THRβ nuclear receptor in the liver to reduce hepatic fat accumulation and improve metabolic parameters. The drug is engineered for high selectivity for the β isoform over the α isoform to minimize systemic thyroid hormone-related side effects, particularly those affecting the cardiovascular system and bone density. Thybetaxor is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
