Overview

Thymalfasin + tyrosine kinase inhibitor is a combination regimen involving thymalfasin (thymosin alpha 1), an immunomodulatory peptide, and a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), typically used in oncology. Thymalfasin promotes T-cell differentiation, enhances cytokine production (e.g., IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-3), augments cellular immunity, and may reduce immune suppression associated with cancer or cytotoxic therapies[1][2]. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors block specific kinase enzymes, often targeting genetic mutations (such as EGFR, VEGF, or others), which drive cancer progression. The combination aims to improve anti-tumor efficacy and immune function, shown to enhance progression-free survival and overall survival in cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma and lung adenocarcinoma compared to TKI or chemotherapy alone.
