Thymogen is a synthetic dipeptide consisting of L-glutamyl-L-tryptophan, developed by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It acts as an immunomodulator that normalizes cellular immunity by regulating the count and functional activity of T-lymphocytes. Thymogen is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of secondary immunodeficiencies associated with chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases, trauma, surgery, and the side effects of chemotherapy or radiotherapy. It is available in several formulations, including an intranasal spray, an injectable solution, and a topical cream, and has been used in Russia and CIS countries for various conditions including respiratory infections and dermatological disorders like atopic dermatitis.
