Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amerithroid is a naturally derived desiccated thyroid extract (DTE) developed by Oliva Therapeutics and manufactured by Jerome Stevens Pharmaceuticals. Sourced from porcine thyroid glands, it provides a standardized combination of both levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) thyroid hormones. Amerithroid is indicated as a replacement or supplemental therapy for patients with hypothyroidism of any etiology (except transient hypothyroidism during recovery from subacute thyroiditis). It is also used for pituitary thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) suppression in the treatment or prevention of euthyroid goiters (including thyroid nodules, subacute or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, and multinodular goiter) and in the management of thyroid cancer.
