Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TI-076 is a standardized aqueous extract of *Ilex paraguariensis* (Yerba Mate) being developed as a phytomedicine for the treatment of obesity and associated metabolic disorders, including diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Preclinical studies indicate that TI-076 reduces body weight, hyperglycemia, and liver fat accumulation while improving lipid profiles and reducing inflammation. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of genes related to inflammation (e.g., IL-1β, NLRP3), lipid metabolism (e.g., PPARα, PPARγ), and fibrosis (e.g., COL1A1). Additionally, it has been shown to increase levels of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and reduce food intake. The extract is designed to be a safe, scalable, and stable therapeutic option for multifactorial metabolic diseases.
