Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan (Heavenly King Tonify the Heart Pill) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula dating back to the Ming Dynasty. It is composed of approximately 13 herbs, including *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, and *Ziziphus jujuba*, designed to treat 'Heart and Kidney Yin deficiency.' Clinically, it is used to manage insomnia, anxiety, palpitations, and cognitive decline. Modern research suggests its sedative effects are mediated through the modulation of GABAergic and serotonergic pathways. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for primary insomnia, perimenopausal syndrome, and the prevention of postoperative delirium in elderly patients.
