Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tianhe Gutong plaster (also known as Tianhe Gutong Tiegao) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) medicated plaster developed by Guilin Tianhe Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of CR Sanjiu). It is formulated as a topical patch containing active ingredients such as camphor, capsaicin, and menthol, along with various herbal extracts including Caulis Erycibes, Herba Ephedrae, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, and Rhizoma Zingiberis. The plaster is widely used for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with simple backache, arthritis, osteoarthritis, strains, bruises, and sprains. It works primarily as an external analgesic by stimulating temperature-sensitive transient receptor potential (TRP) channels (such as TRPV1, TRPM8, and TRPV3) to promote blood circulation, dispel wind, reduce swelling, and alleviate pain.
