Overview
Tianhe Zhuifengao is an over-the-counter (OTC) traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical patch used for pain relief. [3] Developed by Guilin Tianhe Pharmaceutical, now a subsidiary of China Resources Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical, it is one of the company's established brands. [3] The plaster is indicated for warming the meridians to dissipate cold, expelling wind and dampness, and activating blood circulation to stop pain. [2, 5] It is used for conditions such as arthralgia (joint pain) due to wind-cold-dampness, back pain, limited joint movement, and numbness in the limbs. [2, 6] The product contains numerous active herbal ingredients including Aconitum, Ephedra, Asarum, Notopterygium, Radix Aconiti, Angelica, and Safflower, as well as components like camphor, menthol, and methyl salicylate for their analgesic properties. [1, 2, 4]
