Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tianma Xingnao Jiaonang is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) capsule formulation composed of Gastrodia elata (Tianma), Pheretima aspergillum (Dilong/earthworm), Acorus tatarinowii (Shichangpu), Polygala tenuifolia (Yuanzhi), Rehmannia glutinosa (Shudihuang), and Cistanche deserticola (Roucongrong). It is indicated for symptoms attributed to "liver and kidney deficiency" and "liver wind disturbance" in TCM, such as headache, dizziness, memory decline, insomnia, slow reactions, tinnitus, and lower back soreness. The product claims to nourish the liver and kidney, calm endogenous wind ("pinggan xifeng"), promote circulation through the meridians ("tongluo zhitong"), and relieve pain. Clinical studies suggest it may improve cognitive function in mild-to-moderate vascular dementia with these TCM syndromes[2][3][5]. Its mechanism of action is based on multi-component herbal synergy typical of TCM; pharmacological effects are thought to include neuroprotection and improvement of cerebral blood flow but specific molecular targets are not established.
