Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tianruijing is a fixed-dose combination therapy developed by **Zein Healthcare** for the treatment of mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and psychosomatic disorders. It consists of two active pharmaceutical ingredients: **flupentixol**, a thioxanthene neuroleptic, and **melitracen**, a tricyclic antidepressant. At the low doses used in this combination, flupentixol acts as an antagonist at dopamine D1 and D2 receptors, providing antidepressant and anxiolytic properties. Melitracen functions by inhibiting the presynaptic reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, thereby increasing the concentration of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft. This dual-action mechanism allows for the simultaneous modulation of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine systems to alleviate symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders. The drug is administered orally as tablets.
