Overview
Tianzhi granule is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation used primarily for the treatment of mild to moderate vascular dementia. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients and has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase III clinical trials in China. Clinical studies have shown that Tianzhi granule can improve cognitive function and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in patients with vascular dementia, with efficacy comparable to donepezil and a favorable safety profile. The precise mechanism of action is not fully elucidated but is believed to involve neuroprotective effects through multiple pathways relevant to vascular cognitive impairment[1][4][5].
