Tiaoweichengqi Decoction (Tiao Wei Cheng Qi Tang) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula traditionally used to treat "Yangming" stage heat patterns characterized by constipation and abdominal discomfort. In modern clinical research, it is being investigated for its potential to mitigate metabolic syndrome—including weight gain, dyslipidemia, and glucose intolerance—induced by the atypical antipsychotic olanzapine in patients with schizophrenia. The decoction typically comprises three primary ingredients: *Rheum palmatum* (Da Huang), *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gan Cao), and *Natrii Sulfas* (Mang Xiao). Its mechanism in metabolic syndrome is thought to involve the regulation of gut microbiota, improvement of insulin sensitivity, and modulation of inflammatory pathways.
