Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tiaozangyangfei decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound prescription developed by the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients presenting with lung-kidney deficiency syndrome. The formulation is designed to improve pulmonary function and mitigate secondary complications such as low bone mass and osteoporosis. As a TCM decoction, it consists of a complex mixture of botanical extracts that work synergistically to tonify the lungs and kidneys, though its specific molecular targets remain largely uncharacterized in conventional pharmacological terms. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials in China to assess its impact on bone metabolic biochemical indices and FRAX scores.
