Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of three medications used in acute coronary syndrome patients. Ticagrelor is an oral P2Y12 inhibitor antiplatelet medication, morphine is an opioid analgesic, and metoclopramide is a prokinetic agent. The combination addresses the known interaction between morphine and ticagrelor, where morphine delays the absorption and onset of action of ticagrelor. Metoclopramide is co-administered to overcome this delay by increasing gastric emptying and improving the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of ticagrelor.
