Tick-borne encephalitis vaccine is an inactivated viral vaccine used for active immunization to prevent tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), a potentially severe viral infection transmitted by ticks and endemic in parts of Europe and Asia. The vaccine works by inducing the production of neutralizing antibodies against the tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), providing immunity before exposure. It is administered as a three-dose series with periodic booster doses recommended for ongoing risk. The World Health Organization recommends vaccination for all people in highly endemic areas and those at high risk elsewhere. Several formulations exist globally; TICOVAC (Pfizer) is approved in the United States, while FSME-Immun (Pfizer) and Encepur (GSK) are widely used in Europe. Russian-manufactured vaccines include EnceVir and TBE-Moscow[1][4][5][6][8].
