Overview

Tiepefigrastim is a long-acting recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) derivative. It consists of recombinant human G-CSF (filgrastim) conjugated to a specific polyethylene glycol (PEG) moiety, which increases its hydrodynamic size and reduces renal clearance, thereby significantly extending its half-life compared to non-PEGylated filgrastim. Developed by Jiangsu T-Win Biopharmaceutical, tiepefigrastim was approved by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in May 2023. It is indicated for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia and febrile neutropenia in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs. The drug acts by binding to the G-CSF receptor on hematopoietic cells, stimulating the proliferation, differentiation, and activation of neutrophils to mitigate the risk of infection during chemotherapy.
