Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tifovac CL is a live-attenuated bacterial vaccine developed by FARVET for the immunization of poultry against Fowl Typhoid, a severe systemic disease caused by *Salmonella enterica* serovar Gallinarum. The vaccine typically utilizes the 9R strain of *Salmonella Gallinarum*, which is a rough strain that has lost its O-antigen but retains the ability to stimulate a robust immune response. By inducing both humoral and cell-mediated immunity, Tifovac CL helps reduce mortality, clinical signs, and the shedding of the pathogen in replacement birds, such as layers and breeders. It is specifically formulated for veterinary use in poultry flocks to control *Salmonella* infections and is currently approved for marketing.
