Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TIGA-001 is a first-in-class, engineered monomeric IgA-based monoclonal antibody developed by TigaTx. It is designed as an immunotherapy for advanced or metastatic EGFR-positive cancers, particularly non-small cell lung cancer and other neoplasms. Unlike traditional anti-EGFR therapies that primarily engage T cells, NK cells, or macrophages, TIGA-001 specifically targets and activates neutrophils—the most abundant immune cells in human circulation—by binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on tumor cells. This engagement unleashes neutrophils’ innate anti-tumor killing ability and propagates a broader anti-tumor immune response. The drug leverages proprietary technology to overcome historical challenges with manufacturing IgA antibodies and aims to address resistance or intolerance to existing anti-EGFR therapies. As of June 2025, it remains in preclinical development for oncology indications but is also being explored as part of a platform for infectious diseases[1][2][3][5][7].
