Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tigatuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets death receptor 5 (DR5), also known as TRAIL receptor 2. It is designed to induce apoptosis in tumor cells by binding to DR5 and activating the extrinsic apoptotic pathway. Tigatuzumab was developed primarily for the treatment of various solid tumors, including colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer. The drug acts as an agonist of DR5, promoting programmed cell death specifically in cancer cells that overexpress this receptor. Tigatuzumab was originally developed by Daiichi Sankyo.
