Overview

Tigerase is a biosimilar of dornase alfa, a recombinant human deoxyribonuclease I enzyme developed by Generium. It is used as an inhaled mucolytic therapy for cystic fibrosis. The drug works by cleaving extracellular DNA in bronchial secretions, which reduces mucus viscosity and helps clear pulmonary airways. Tigerase was the first dornase alfa biosimilar approved and launched in Russia and has demonstrated comparable efficacy and safety to the reference product Pulmozyme (Genentech/Roche) in phase III clinical trials for patients with cystic fibrosis[1][2][3][5][7].
