tigolaxant

Tigolaxant (also known as Tegoprazan) is a novel small molecule, potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal diseases. It functions by reversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, leading to potent and sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion. This mechanism provides a rapid onset of action, typically within 30 minutes, and its efficacy is independent of food intake. Tigolaxant is approved for indications such as reflux esophagitis (including erosive and nonerosive reflux disease) and for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* in combination therapy. It is also in clinical development for duodenal ulcers.
