Overview
TIL-TC150 is a botanical cannabis extract developed by Tilray in collaboration with The Hospital for Sick Children for the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy, specifically Dravet syndrome. It is formulated as an oral liquid containing a 50:1 ratio of cannabidiol (CBD) to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), with concentrations of 100 mg/mL and 2 mg/mL, respectively. The drug acts on the endocannabinoid system, primarily through cannabinoid receptors and other targets like GPR55 and TRPV1, to exert anticonvulsant effects. In a Phase 1 clinical trial involving pediatric patients, TIL-TC150 was found to be safe and well-tolerated, showing potential in reducing seizure frequency and improving quality of life.
