Overview

Tildrakizumab is a humanized IgG1/k monoclonal antibody used for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy. It works by selectively binding to the p19 subunit of interleukin-23 (IL-23), thereby inhibiting its interaction with the IL-23 receptor. This blockade reduces the release of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, which play a central role in driving inflammation and keratinocyte hyperproliferation characteristic of psoriasis. Tildrakizumab was originally developed by Merck & Co., and later licensed to Sun Pharma, which now markets it under the brand name Ilumya[2][4][5][7].
