Tiliroside is a natural **glycosidic flavonoid** primarily found in several medicinal and dietary plants, such as linden, rose hip, and strawberry. It is chemically classified as a kaempferol glycoside and exhibits a range of bioactivities. Tiliroside displays **anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, antihyperlipidemic, anticarcinogenic, and hepatoprotective effects**. Its mechanisms include: inhibition of the MAPK/JNK and MAPK/p38 signaling pathways (leading to downregulation of iNOS and COX-2 and decreased NO production), noncompetitive inhibition of α-amylase (relevant for antidiabetic properties), activation of the KEAP1/NRF2 pathway (protecting against oxidative stress and liver injury), and inhibition of aldose reductase[1][3][6][7][11][12][16]. Tiliroside has shown anti-obesity effects via activation of adiponectin signaling and enhancement of fatty acid oxidation in preclinical models, and exhibits cytotoxic activity against certain cancer cell lines[6][11]. It is a plant-derived compound and not a pharmaceutical drug.
