Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TIM-1 CAR-T cells (including Celdara Medical's development candidate CM-CX1) represent an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 1 (TIM-1), also known as Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1 (HAVCR1). TIM-1 is highly expressed in specific solid tumors, such as renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC), while its expression in healthy tissues is extremely limited or absent. By targeting TIM-1, these engineered T cells selectively bind to tumor cells, leading to robust T-cell activation, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) production, and targeted tumor cell lysis. Preclinical models have demonstrated significant tumor suppression and high survival rates with minimal on-target, off-tumor toxicity in renal tissues.
