TIM-1 lentiviral vector is a gene therapy tool designed to deliver and overexpress the T-cell immunoglobulin mucin-1 (TIM-1) gene, also known as HAVCR1 or KIM-1. Developed as a research tool by companies such as GenePharma, this lentiviral vector is used to investigate the oncogenic role of TIM-1 in various malignancies, particularly cervical cancer. By increasing TIM-1 expression, the vector activates the PI3K/AKT/mTOR and PI3K/AKT/p53 signaling pathways, which in turn promotes cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) while inhibiting apoptosis. In preclinical models of cervical cancer, overexpression of TIM-1 via this vector has been shown to accelerate tumor growth, identifying TIM-1 as a potential therapeutic target and diagnostic biomarker.
