Overview
Timoglau is an ophthalmic formulation of timolol maleate, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist developed by Laboratório EDOL. It is approved for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension, chronic open-angle glaucoma, aphakic glaucoma, and secondary glaucoma. Timoglau works by blocking both beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the ciliary body, which decreases the production of aqueous humor and subsequently lowers intraocular pressure.
