Tinfix is an oral third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic containing cefixime trihydrate, developed and marketed by Arges Life Science. It is a broad-spectrum bactericidal agent that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Tinfix is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including uncomplicated urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, acute bronchitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. It is available in capsule and oral suspension (syrup) formulations and is primarily marketed in South Asian regions such as Bangladesh.
