Overview
Tingli Dazao Xiefei Decoction is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originating from the *Jin Gui Yao Lue* (Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber). It is primarily composed of *Semen Lepidii* (Tinglizi) and *Fructus Jujubae* (Dazao). The formula is traditionally used to purge the lungs of excess fluid and phlegm, relieve asthma, and reduce edema. In modern clinical practice, it is frequently investigated for its efficacy in treating conditions characterized by fluid or phlegm accumulation in the respiratory system, such as severe pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The 'Modified' version often incorporates additional herbs to address specific patient syndromes, such as the phlegm-damp type in pneumonia.
