Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tio-Dexiren is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing dexketoprofen trometamol and thiocolchicoside. Dexketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and the S(+)-enantiomer of ketoprofen, which acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) to provide analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. Thiocolchicoside is a semi-synthetic sulfur derivative of colchicoside that acts as a muscle relaxant with selective affinity for gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine receptors, where it acts as a competitive antagonist. Marketed by Apeks Pharma and manufactured by İlko İlaç, Tio-Dexiren is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, including muscle spasms, dysmenorrhea, and toothache. The combination is designed to address both the inflammatory pain and the associated muscular tension in musculoskeletal conditions.
