Developed by **Kindeva Drug Delivery** (a company formed from the acquisition of 3M's Drug Delivery Systems business), this product is formulated as a solution-based aerosol, which offers pharmaceutical advantages over traditional suspension formulations in terms of delivery consistency. The device delivers a dose of 5 mcg per actuation. It is designed for the maintenance treatment of **chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)** and **asthma**, functioning by inhibiting M3 receptors in the airway smooth muscle to induce bronchodilation. Clinical development has included Phase I pharmacokinetic crossover studies comparing the product's steady-state absorption to the reference branded product, Spiriva Respimat.
