tiplimotide

Tiplimotide is a synthetic peptide analog of an immunodominant epitope of myelin basic protein (MBP), specifically designed as an altered peptide ligand for the potential treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). It was developed to modulate immune responses by inducing a T-helper 2-like immune response in MS patients, thereby reducing the autoimmune attack on myelin. Tiplimotide was investigated as an intravenous therapy and reached phase II clinical trials for relapsing forms of MS. However, its development has been discontinued[1][2][4].
