tipranavir + ritonavir

Tipranavir + ritonavir is a fixed combination of two antiretroviral drugs used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Tipranavir is a non-peptidic protease inhibitor that targets the HIV-1 protease enzyme, inhibiting the processing of viral Gag and Gag-Pol polyproteins, which prevents the formation of mature infectious virions. Ritonavir acts as a pharmacokinetic enhancer ("booster") by inhibiting cytochrome P450 3A-mediated metabolism, thereby increasing plasma concentrations and effectiveness of tipranavir. This combination is indicated for use in adults and children (weighing at least 36 kg) with HIV infection, particularly those with resistance to multiple other protease inhibitors[1][2][4][5][6]. The regimen does not cure HIV but helps control viral replication and reduce disease progression.
