tiragolumab

Tiragolumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets TIGIT (T-cell immunoreceptor with immunoglobulin and ITIM domains), an immune checkpoint receptor expressed on T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. By binding to TIGIT, tiragolumab blocks its interaction with the poliovirus receptor (PVR/CD155), which normally suppresses immune responses. This blockade amplifies the body’s immune response by reactivating T cells and enhancing NK cell anti-tumor activity, especially when used in combination with other checkpoint inhibitors such as atezolizumab (Tecentriq). Tiragolumab has been investigated primarily for various cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), esophageal cancer, cervical cancer, and other solid tumors. It was developed by Genentech/Roche and has received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the FDA for use in combination therapy for metastatic NSCLC.
