Overview

Tirbanibulin is a small molecule drug used topically for the treatment of actinic keratosis on the face or scalp. It acts as a dual inhibitor of tubulin polymerization and Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src signaling, leading to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and induction of apoptosis in abnormal skin cells. By inhibiting microtubule formation and blocking proto-oncogenic Src tyrosine kinase pathways, tirbanibulin disrupts cellular proliferation, survival, and migration associated with precancerous lesions. The drug was developed as an antineoplastic agent with additional preclinical evidence suggesting potential efficacy against various cancers such as prostate and breast cancer[1][3][5][6][8].
