Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination entry encompassing two related CD19-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies. Tisagenlecleucel (CTL019), marketed as Kymriah, is an FDA-approved CAR-T therapy utilizing a murine anti-CD19 component. CTL119 is an investigational humanized version. Both therapies involve collecting a patient's own T cells, genetically modifying them to express a CAR that targets CD19, and infusing them back into the patient to target and eliminate CD19-expressing malignant and normal B cells. While CTL019 and CTL119 are typically administered as distinct therapies (often with CTL119 being studied as a potential improvement over CTL019), they have also been investigated in combination *with other agents*.
